Zach Frankel is the Founder and Executive Director of the Utah Rivers Council. Zach has led the campaign to remove property tax subsidies for residential water use, protect the Bear River and Diamond Fork River from being dammed and to protect the Great Salt Lake Ecosystem from being harmed by water development. More recently, Zach led the campaign to protect the Sooghani Indian Village alongside the Jordan River from being paved over by UTA’s proposed development project. Rosalie received her B.A. from Brown University and her J.D. from the University of Utah College of Law. She served as law clerk to the Utah Court of Appeals, and spent over 10 years in private practice, specializing in commercial litigation and antitrust. She joined Utah Rivers Council in 2010 to use her legal skills to uphold her environmental values. She augments her time with grassroots organizing, public speaking, writing, and general advocacy work. Jonathan Stanco is Water Demand Coordinator for the Utah Rivers Council. Jonathan, who holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Reno, hopes to apply his lifelong interest in water and its conservation towards the development of effective water use legislation.
